The Jay R. Gould Award presented by the Society for Technical Communication honors true academic mentorship; a record of successful students, defined as those who are involved in STC, and actively working in the profession; involvement in student activities outside of the classroom; innovation and creativity in teaching, and involvement in research that leads to changes in the way technical communication is taught.
Dr. Herb Smith, professor in the Digital Writing and Media Arts Department at Kennesaw State, has been nominated for excellence in teaching technical communication. He has been teaching technical and professional communication for more than 30 years. Winners of the award will be announced in early spring of 2016.
