The Betty L Siegel Award, created in is named in honor of Dr. Betty L. Siegel, past president of Kennesaw State University. The annual award recognizes exceptional service to the University and is bestowed upon an outstanding member of the staff or faculty. The individual who receives the award embodies the qualities of leadership, scholarship and service to KSU while displaying a strong commitment to his or her students, colleagues and the surrounding community.
About Dr. Shock
David Shock is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Kennesaw State University. Dr. Shock teaches courses on American government, state and local government, and public administration. In addition to teaching, he conducts research in a variety of areas including local government home rule, local tax referenda politics, and state-level ballot access policies for third-party and independent candidates. His research has been published in the Social Science Journal, the Journal of Economics and Politics, the Journal of Political Science, Government Finance Review, and the New England Journal of Political Science.
